Choosing a Web Designer Skilled at Copywriting By Kenneth Wilson, WiredBusinessDesign.com. Copyright © 2011. All rights reserved. I'm not talking about "Copyright" protection, like you see on the first page of every book and on the front of every CD or DVD that lets people know that it's against the law to duplicate the content. What I'm talking about now is "Copywriting"... which is, writing about your product in a way that uses HEADLINES and descriptive paragraphs to build excitement for your product or service. Not every website designer has this kind of skill. Sure, many can build a website, but not many people can build a website that sells. Building a website that sells -- which means customers like, trust, and are compelled to either click on advertisements or click to make purchases -- takes skill -- now, we're getting into copywriting. Writing advertising copy starts with basic writing skills. This kind of writing talks about your product or services in a way that highlights strengths using titles, headlines, and descriptive text. This should all be done in a clean, simple way so that it's going to noticed by your site's visitors.
From choosing a name for the domain name, to creating a graphic header, to wording the headlines, there are many details that an expert website designer -- who is also skilled at copywriting -- is going to implement in a website design that many amateurs (and even professional graphic designers) often overlook.
