Building an Insurance Website

Insurance is a popular industry on the web, and of course the offline world. Being and able to design and develop an insurance site can open the door to many new clients from different areas.

I recently built a website for Everett, WA insurance. This company, PeaceInAStorm.com, targets Everett, Washington and offers all types of insurance through their business: Auto, Life, Home Owners, Renters, and even Motorcycle Insurance.

Our idea is to build a website that is more than just a billboard, as many insurance sites are. Our team put together articles and designed graphics in a way where we can attempt to make repeat visitors of their clients, who hear so much about insurance on a daily basis, but typically don't know very much.

Articles came together on numerous topics, and even answered questions that many consumers likely have, but just haven't taken the time to consider. Questions such as: Are All Insurance Companies the Same?

We hope to pull people into the website, and like what they read, and of course turn into repeat visitors. We chose colors typically easy on the eyes, and try to present a site with a lot of material, but not too "busy" when you look at the site. To the lead designer, that felt like the most professional direction to take the site. Advertising space on the site is minimal, as their isn't any. The insurance company owns this site themselves, and so has no intentions (at the time of this writing) to offer advertising to another insurance company.

In the short terms, Google organic search and Google Maps, could be what bring the initial visitors. In the long term the free newsletter could bring visitors back to the site, but the challenge will be for the site owners to public material that catches attention, and draws people to the site for the latest piece.
