Major search engines, such as Google, make it easy nowadays to be found within search rankings.
Once your website is up online, and linked to from at least one website that Google regularly indexes, your site will likely soon be indexed as well.
There are a number of factors that will influence your site's rankings in Google search. Those factors include the title of your domain name, the title of your website, the headline on your website, and the topics covered in the content on your website.
The first step of course is choosing a relavant domain name. If your website offers real estate listings, you're going to want to choose a domain name that is uses the words your customers are most likely to use in Google Search. In this case, keywords and phrases such as "homes for sale" or "real estate" would be words you would want to use in your domain name.
However, "homes for sale" or "real estate" are broad terms, where there is much competition. In this case, it's best to choose a domain name that narrows it down to what state you live in, such as "CaliforniaRealEstate.com". If that name's taken, then try "CaliRealEstate.com" or even "RealEstateCalifornia.com". The name of course should be something that's easy to say, and easy to remember, and generally no longer than six syllables -- or you may end up with a long domain name that doesn't fit on a business card.
